Corporate Social Responsibility – Walking the Talk

This three-day workshop is designed for business executives and those interested in working in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The workshop goes beyond the incentives for engaging in CSR and addresses the question, ‘How does one implement it?’.

Main themes we will be covering:
• Incentives to engage in CSR: A strong rationale for proactively engaging in CSR
• Leading Frameworks for CSR: Looking at selected international frameworks, including the United Nations Global Compact
• Leadership in CSR: Bringing values to the workplace and developing leadership skills
• CSR communications: Engaging and inspiring stakeholders
• Engaging NGOs: Strategic partnerships for win-win alliances
• Case Studies of CSR in practice: Learning from best practices
• Formulating a CSR strategy: Participants will develop the outline of a CSR strategy for their organization

Dates: November 25 - 27, 2009.

Format: The workshop is designed to be practical and hands-on. The dynamic approach will incorporate case studies, simulations, dialogue, and will encourage peer-to-peer learning and networking.

Speakers: The seminar features practitioners from the corporate, nonprofit and academic worlds. They will provide insight, working knowledge and examples of best practice.

The course will be anchored by Mohit Mukherjee, M. Ed. Harvard Univ.,Director of the UPEACE Centre for Executive Education.

Workshop Costs: $1,500 for international participants. This tuition fee includes all course materials, 4 nights hotel accommodation, lunches and the closing reception. Special rate for Costa Rica-based participants of $750 (not including accommodation). All participants will be awarded a certificate from UPEACE upon completion of the course.
