Donation Vacation

Interested in having an atypical and socially responsible vacation experience? A donation vacation to the UPEACE campus might be your answer.

Given the distance between the United States and the UPEACE Campus in Costa Rica, it is difficult to completely and effectively demonstrate to donors the uniqueness and value of the academic experience at the University for Peace without a genuine first-hand experience.

Tourism is Costa Rica’s fastest growing and most profitable industry but there is also an increasing demand to provide cutting-edge but thoughtful vacation experiences for visitors. Increasingly, organizations are creating new kinds of vacations that provide opportunities for educational enrichment, philanthropy, and unique/non-invasive exchanges with local cultures.

That is why we have created a donation vacation program!

Situated on a sprawling 600 acre campus in the hills overlooking the central valley of Costa Rica, the University for Peace is a breathtaking place of community and scholarship. 200 students and 100 staff from over 80 countries enrich the university with a dynamic multiculturalism and make it one of the most unique places on earth.

So if you are interested in having a different kind of vacation, one that gives back, join us and we can help shape your trip for you. All activies and timings are flexible based on your needs. Group trips are also welcome!

Suggested activities:

• Participation in student cultural events
• Visiting classrooms
• Professional development short courses on a variety of topics
  
• Visit to the UPEACE Peace Park
• Receptions and meals with faculty, staff, and students
  
• Dining in local restaurants
  
• Weekend excurisions to the beach, hotsprings or rainforest
• Visits to nearby communities and schools

Suggested length: 4-8 days

Suggested donation: 2000 dollars per day per person depending on activities.

UPEACE/US would cover all costs including airfare (depending on point of origin) and work with university to arrange all logistics. All donations above the cost of the trip are tax-deductible for U.S. tax payers and the donations go to support scholarships for UPEACE students and UPEACE/US peace education programs in washington D.C.
